The story behind how Revive Academy was founded
Revive Academy was started as a response to a simple question; if we could prepare more Bahamian youth find jobs they like, would this reduce crime? Like countries around the world, The Bahamas has been witnessing the rise in crime and violence in many forms. Recent statistics point to a prevalence of violence as a way to resolve disputes in inter-personal and community relations, especially among youth, which in turn has increased the general perception of insecurity. Similarly, high rates of youth unemployment and discouragement have been shown to increase an individual’s risk of being involved.
Stage 1:
Let's figure out what skills are needed to increase employability of our youth as well as character building courses than help make us be better people.
Stage 2:
Let's convert these skills into engaging interactive content that is fun to use and accessible to everyone.
Stage 3:
Let's build an online portal where people can pick their own course and take these courses on their own time no matter where they are.
We want to provide an opportunity for learners to develop behavioural and technical competencies
This means providing capacity building content to everyone who wants it.
